Friday Favorite: Funny Inbound Marketing Articles

I guess some background information needs to go into why I believe this. My friends have a habit of telling me almost daily that I’m not funny. Now, I know they say this to be good friends and to make sure my huge ego doesn’t inflate too much to the point that I can’t walk through doorways. However, their jealousy over my hysterical nature is overly apparent and I tend to disregard their comments completely. However, occasionally it does give me a temporary (pretty much momentary, I’d even say fleeting) complex that I’m actually not that funny. But now that the OverGo Studio blog homepage has come to show up on the first page of Google when searching for funny marketing articles is the ultimate “in your face, I’m funny and I have Google to back me up” payback.

Now that my rant is over, let’s get to the point of this article. Blogging about funny, entertaining content when it comes to your industry is the best way to go. As you can see, people are searching for funny articles when it comes to their industry, articles that aren’t going to put them to sleep. That’s because these articles do really well when shared on social sites and they are just great, entertaining reads. Of course a mix of interesting, educational, and entertaining articles is always the best practice. So don’t be scared to have a little fun when it comes to writing about your industry and show your funny side (maybe Google will endorse you as funny one day too!).

5 Keys To Generating Leads

phillip1This week's Friday Favorite came to me when I was searching Google for "funny inbound marketing articles." Now, I don't have someone else's article to share this week, because I would like to actually share my own thoughts. Let me explain. When doing this Google search, I was scrolling through the first page of results. Lo and behold I come across the homepage for OverGo Studio’s blog, the one that I write for weekly, about half the way down the first page of results.

Now, many inbound marketers would be ecstatic that their blog homepage shows up on the first page. I took this finding a little differently. The fact that our blog homepage shows up on the first page when searching for “funny inbound marketing articles” can only mean one thing… I’m funny! I am a funny blog writer!
