What Not To Do With Inbound Marketing Services From Real Housewives

The Real Housewives have a habit of talking about a subject until you literally want to grab them by the shoulders and say “We get it, you are beating a dead horse at this point!” Now with inbound marketing, blogging over and over about our best performing keywords sound like a great idea. And granted, it is. But how many articles can you write about how great social media is for your business before you want to never log on to Facebook again for fear of all your Facebook articles flying out of your screen and covering you in a blanket of repurposed information. (This fear only lasts about 5 minutes until your college friend texts you to tell you that a mutual friend is engaged, having a baby, divorced, or got fat and you log back on.)

So how do we continue to blog about our keywords without beating a dead horse? We keep up with new marketing trends, we read other people’s articles, we continue our learning process, and we make things interesting. Look through my articles and see how much I’ve written about social media and blogging, it’s quite a bit. But never have I thought in my head, “Hmmm, haven’t I written an article just like this before?” That’s because I haven’t. My mornings are constantly filled with reading articles from other inbound marketing agencies, big shots in the industry, and HubSpot’s learning materials. This keeps things new and interesting. And of course, I’m an awesome blogger and can naturally and easily pop out blogs related to silly things like a Real Housewives franchise. It’s a talent only a true reality TV junkie and lover of writing can manage.

If there’s ever a time where you feel like you’re repurposing content too much or beating a dead horse, a simple solution is just to educate yourself more. The more information you take in, the more and better information you can produce.

inbound marketing services reality tvI’m a big reality show fan. Here Comes Honey Boo Boo might be the most pointless show on television but it’s damn good entertainment for a rainy Saturday spent on the couch in and out of a 5 hour nap. And the Kardashian’s might be completely irrelevant and take up too much of our magazines, television sets, products in stores, etc. But they are smart people getting their brand recognized by billions. Lastly we have the Real Housewives franchise, specifically the season currently on television which is Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

The Real Housewives has made millions of dollars and gathered millions of followers by doing one thing: talking about the same drama for episode upon episode, season upon season. For instance in this current season, one Beverly Hills housewife (who is neither married nor rich) started a rumor about another housewife (who is actually rich but not married anymore). The whole season has been spent ripping this topic to shreds. But do we get bored with it? Nope, we want to see every fight that goes on about the topic. They seem to get away with it, but can you get away with talking about the same subject over and over with inbound marketing?
