Great News For HubSpot Customers: New Companies Acquired!

The Chime is specifically for Google Chrome and you can download it as an add-on. It allows you to receive all of your social media notifications in one place. Once you download the add-on, it’ll place an icon in the top right hand corner of your browser. From here you can link all of your social sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Reddit, etc. Whenever you receive a notification on one of these sites, a number will show up where the icon is in the top right hand corner. This is similar to when you log onto Facebook and your notifications show up in your top navigation bar. This app color codes the notifications so you know exactly which social they’re coming from.

This application is great for staying on top of your social sites. Of course, it can get distracting if you’re typing an email and that notification pops up. But overall it has more benefits if you can get past the urge to check and see what’s going on in your socials every time you get a notification. If you use socials for business and interaction with clients or other industry leaders, staying up to date on all of your socials can be hard. Messages go unseen and chances for connections can be lost. The Chime helps you stay on top of all of that.

PrepWork

This is by far the coolest application I’ve seen in quite some time. Basically what PrepWork does is sync with whatever calendar you use (Outlook, Gmail, or iCalendar) and every time you have a meeting it will send you information on the interests of those that are in your meeting. So say your client is a huge fan of the Redskins and they just played last night but you couldn’t stay up late enough to watch the end of the 8pm game. Have no fear, PrepWork is here!

This application is great because they will send you an email prior to your meeting with information on everyone in it. They will provide you with different kinds of information, it can send you highlights of their LinkedIn profiles, recent blog posts, Twitter activity, and background on their company. Let’s say you see they tweeted about the game last night. Great! Hop onto Google, check the score, and boom you have a way to connect with your client. This helps immensely with client confidence and trust. It’s hard to get or keep a client that you can’t have a casual conversation with before talking business.

What This Means For HubSpot

At Inbound 2012, HubSpot talked a lot about how they wanted to personalize their customers’ journeys better. Both of these programs are the answer to everything you could ask for in order to do that. These can help personalize the sales process tenfold and give you more bottom of the funnel conversations. In my opinion, even with personalization codes in emails, a lot of the newsletters, workflows, and communication can come off as for the masses. I think this is going to be great when integrated past client meetings but into email and landing page communication as well!

HubSpot’s mission statement is to create marketing people love and in order to get someone to fall in love with a piece of content it has to be personal, special, and unique. This new addition to HubSpot will help your bottom of the funnel potential clients fall in love with your marketing and your current clients fall deeper in love.  I’m extremely interested to see what HubSpot does with these two programs and how they integrate them into their system. They haven’t released much information on their plan but we have a lot of changes to look forward to!

This week HubSpot announced that they have acquired two new companies: The Chime and PrepWork. This is absolutely great news for the future of HubSpot and what they can help us do for our customers and potential customers. But before we get into that, let’s talk about what exactly these two companies do.
