HubSpot CRM: How to Identify Unworked Leads

Written by Rick Kranz | July 27, 2021

What is an Unworked Contact?

First of all, what is an unworked contact?

Unworked contacts are either not assigned to a salesperson or, if they already are assigned, have not had any sales activity. An example of some sales activities are:

  • Emails
  • Phone calls
  • Meetings

In this episode I explain what you should be doing now based on this information.

Rick (00:00):Hi, did you know that there's an easy way to make sure that all of your leads and contacts are being followed up on and nothing is falling through the cracks? I want to show you how to do this inside the HubSpot CRM. So let's jump in.

Rick (00:14):Inside the CRM, if you go to contacts, your contacts view, and go into filters, there is a field called unworked, or contact unworked. And if we select contact unworked and true, contact unworked means it's a contact that either has not been assigned to a salesperson, or since it's been assigned to a salesperson, it has not had any sales activity, sales activities being emails, calls, meetings, and so on and so forth. So if I set this to true and apply the filter, we're now going to get a list of all the contacts that have had no sales activities, or they're not assigned yet.

Rick (01:04):So this is great in a couple of different scenarios. One, if you're a sales manager and you want to just look quickly at the database and see, are there any contacts in here or leads that came in that are not being worked on? You can quickly run this filter or leads that I haven't assigned, what leads I haven't assigned, to a salesperson yet. Also from a salesperson's perspective, you can quickly go in here and say, are there any leads that have been assigned to me this week or last week that I haven't worked on yet? And run this filter and it'll show you all of your new contacts that you have yet to have any sales activities with. Anyway, I hope you find this tip useful. Thanks for watching this, have a great day.
