social media services faqHere at OverGo Studio, we get a lot of questions from clients and visitors alike about various aspects of inbound marketing services. We are going to start a series of blogs that answers all of your frequently asked questions. We get a lot of questions on what the simplest inbound marketing process is for a small company, how to use Google Analytics, and how to find out what keywords competitors are using.

What are the basic steps to creating a simple inbound marketing process for a small company?

The basic steps to creating a simple inbound marketing process would be: keyword research, blogging, creating offers, and lead nurturing. You would want to come up with the best keywords based on difficulty, search volume, and relevance to your business. Then you would create relevant content based around your keyword research that would satisfy your readers and prospects and get you found. Next, you would create a relevant offer for your visitors to download, such as a webinar or eBook. The leads that these generate would then have to be nurtured with an lead email nurturing campaign. These would be the basic steps for a small company wanting to create a simple inbound marketing process.

How do I use google analytics for my growing business?

google
Google Analytics provides insight to your business as to how customers are using your website and generating interest in your product. The service allows you to see how effective your marketing is, how attractive your products or services are, and how customers are receiving your message. The first step would be to determine what your marketing objectives are and select measurements that best express those objectives.

There are many ways to use Google Analytics. Two of the ways we like to use it are first- to quickly find the pages that are engaging readers and the pages that need improvement. We look at how much time is spent on each page by visitors. Second- we look at goal conversion tracking to see how many people are completing goals that we have set for their website based on marketing objectives. Beyond that, there are many more ways to use Google Analytics and we recommend that you go to Occam Razor’s website to learn more.

How can I find out what keywords my competitors are using?

Some common keyword tools are Wordstream, Market Samurai, and Hubspot’s Keyword SEO Tool. However these won’t tell you what keywords your competitors are using to generate traffic because nothing will. These tools can tell you what keywords your competitors have optimized their sites around and that’s about it. You then have to go to Google or Hubspot Keyword Grader to find out how it ranks. This will tell you which ones are getting the most traffic and how difficult they are to place for. Just because your competitors are using a keyword doesn’t mean it brings in traffic. The only way to know that would be to look at their analytics account which is not possible.
